Centipede from Loosdrecht is switching to night deliveries, an efficient choice.
‘We are constantly looking for ways to optimise our service,’ explains Maurice. ‘That's why we decided to switch to night deliveries. Why this shift? Mainly to allow our customers to receive early deliveries.’
‘The switch to night delivery required some logistical adjustments, albeit minimal,’ Maurice continues. ‘For example, we purchased special delivery boxes, allowing deliveries to be left safely without the need for staff to be present.’
‘This switch has definitely affected our business operations, but in a positive way,’ Maurice continues. ‘We can now deliver faster, resulting in more satisfied customers. Our people have quickly adapted to the new way of working, and the speed of delivery to our customers has improved as a result.’ ‘Our deliveries are now delivered via special delivery boxes that we have installed at our sites. This allows us to leave goods safely, even outside regular working hours.’
‘The biggest difference between day and night distribution is undoubtedly speed,’ Maurice stresses. ‘Night distribution allows us to deliver orders early in the morning, resulting in significant time savings for both us and our customers.’
‘In terms of environmental friendliness, we were not immediately aware of the benefits of night distribution,’ admits Maurice. ‘Now that we know about it, we discover that it is also a more environmentally friendly option, due to less traffic during the night hours, among other things.’
